Obscure artist, Tom Hicks, has recently sold two paintings rumored to be in the millions!<\/p>\n

Businesses in downtown Waukesha were buzzing last week as Tom Hicks walked from tavern to bar in his newly purchased tuxedo with checkbook in hand. Stunned proprietors and bartenders up and down Main Street commented on the artist\u2019s recent sales of his latest works.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe had that new suit on and really looked nice. Smelled good, too. Usually he smells like cigar smoke, bourbon and, well, like wet carpeting. I was set to throw him out of the bar again until he got out that checkbook and paid off his tab from the last couple of months.\u201d Said James (Toots) Riley at the Peoples Park Restaurant.<\/p>\n

Betty Laconovich, owner of Skully\u2019s Tavern, commented: \u201cI seen him comin\u2019 and I yelled to Cecil, \u2018Close the door. Hicks is on his way in here!\u2019, but Hicks got in before Cecil moved his fat behind. Anyway, He paid his tab, paid for all the graffiti he painted in the bathrooms, paid for the broken bar stools, and that big mirror he smashed last week, too. I called the bank and nearly fainted when they said his check was good!\u201d<\/p>\n

Our reporter caught up with Hicks at the Downtown Bar & Grill where he was paying-off another large bar bill. Hicks claimed that his new \u201cDinner Series\u201d of paintings were sold for, what he claimed, millions.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy first was Another Dinner at the Neanderthals<\/i><\/b> and I followed up that one with Hurrying Home After Dinner<\/i><\/b>. This creepy guy comes into the Almont Gallery and writes a check on the spot. Didn\u2019t even ask the price! Said Hicks. \u201cSo, I threw in a big one that I just finished called Hidden<\/i><\/b> Birds<\/i><\/b> because of all the money he was spending. They\u2019re gone now. Some guy that works for the buyer picked them all up last night. Hey. Can I buy ya\u2019 a drink or some Slim Jims, or something?\u201d<\/p>\n
